  • About Spector Manufacturing

Spector Textile Products was founded by Louis Spector in 1937. Using recycled fibers and textile waste from the many mills in the Merrimack Valley, the company sorted, graded, and repackaged materials for resale to manufacturers. Over the next 50 years, Spector became a leading supplier of industrial wiping rags throughout New England.

In 1979, Howard Spector joined the business and expanded operations into manufacturing painters’ drop cloths, spray socks, and commercial wiping cloths. In 1984, the Clean Cloths brand was introduced to retail paint and hardware stores along the East Coast, along with a line of paper and janitorial products.

In 1995, the company entered the dry cleaning and laundry market with custom screen-printed laundry bags and mesh bag products. This product line quickly became the company’s largest, with laundry bags now distributed across North America through more than 40 distributors and sales representatives.

In 2007, the company moved to a larger 85,000 sq. ft. facility in Lawrence, Massachusetts, expanding production capacity and inventory space to support growing demand.

In 2025, Spector Textile Products became Spector Manufacturing Company. Today, the company employs more than 30 skilled staff and continues to grow through new product development and innovation.
